I went with the group led by Joshua Hyun and he took us down the quad area from the SOA Gallery complex. The first part of the walk consisted of all the sculptures along the staircase from the quad area to the Kinesiology building. They are huge and very strange sculptures that I do not understand the meaning of. Of course they are beautiful and catch one’s eye as they roam around CSULB’s campus, but I do not understand why those sculptures were chosen to be put in the center of our campus.
We then took a left at the bottom of the staircase and headed over to the fountain at Brotman Hall. Along the way their were a few scenic areas that we took pictures of. We finished by heading to the Japanese Gardens to see the influence of Asian culture on Cal State Long Beach.
